Thoth 0.2.8: search your settings, in a clearer order
Thoth 0.2.8 makes Settings quicker to find your way around. Type a word to see only the settings that match it, and find the sections you use most at the top.
Search your settings
A search box sits above the list of sections. Type a word, and only the settings that match it stay on the page: by their name, their hint, or one of their choices. Typing "dark" finds the theme, and "update" finds the updates.
The list of sections shrinks to the ones with a match, so you can jump straight to them. Press Escape, or clear the box, to see everything again.
It works the same in the desktop app and the web app.
A clearer order
The sections now start with what most people change first:
- Appearance: the theme and the language, together.
- Editor.
- Private Space, with its search index.
- Import notes, for Notion exports and Obsidian vaults.
Then come servers, the assistant, connected apps, notifications, updates, and help and feedback. The tour moved into Help and feedback.
How to get it
From 0.2.3, click Update when the app tells you 0.2.8 is out. From 0.2.2 or older, install it from the download section. The changelog lists every change.
Questions
Where did the tour go?
To Help and feedback, at the bottom of Settings. Or search for "tour".
Did any setting change or go away?
No. Every setting is still there and keeps its value; only the order and a few section names changed.
