Thoth 0.2.6: right-click to add, folder colors, a space switcher
Thoth 0.2.6 makes the sidebar quicker to work in. You can add pages and folders where you right-click, color your folders, and move between spaces from the top of the sidebar.
Right-click to add
Right-click the Private Space's header, or the empty area under your pages, for New page and New folder at the top level. Right-click a folder for New page inside and New folder inside.
Right-click a page for Open in new tab. Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter still does the same.
New items go where you are
Click a folder, and New page and New folder put things in it, from the sidebar's buttons, the shortcuts or the command palette.
The folder is marked in the sidebar so you can see where new items will go. Clicking a page uses that page's folder. Click the empty area to go back to the top level.
A new page is called Untitled and opens at once, with its name ready to type, the way a new folder works.
Colored folders
Right-click a folder and choose Color… to give it one of eight colors: gray, brown, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple or red. The folder icon takes the color, in light and dark themes. None takes it off.
In your Private Space, colors are kept in Thoth's own .thoth folder, so your files and folders stay as they are. In a workspace, the color is saved with the folder and everyone in it sees the same one.
Switch spaces from the top
Click Thoth at the top of the sidebar. It now shows the Private Space you are in, and opens a short menu:
- your recent Private Spaces, to open one in this window;
- Open folder…, to pick another;
- your workspaces, to jump to one in the sidebar;
- All Private Spaces, the full picker, as before.
How to get it
From 0.2.3, click Update when the app tells you 0.2.6 is out. From 0.2.2 or older, install it from the download section. The changelog lists every change.
Questions
Where did the New page dialog go?
New page now creates the page first and lets you name it in the sidebar. To put a page in a folder, click the folder first, or right-click it and choose New page inside.
Do other apps see my folder colors?
No. In your Private Space they are only in Thoth's .thoth folder; your folders keep their names.
