Thoth 0.1.1: move pages to a workspace, tabs, themes and styles
Thoth 0.1.1 lets you copy or move pages between your Private Space and a shared workspace. It also adds drag and drop in the sidebar, browser-like tabs, a command palette, Light and Dark themes, and a text style toolbar.
Copy or move pages to a workspace
Select pages in your Private Space and copy or move them to a workspace. Before anything is sent, a preview shows which pages, links and attachments will travel and who will see them.
Folders travel as folder pages and come back as folders. If the app stops in the middle, the transfer carries on from where it was the next time you open Thoth.
Order and folders in the sidebar
Drag pages to reorder them or drop them into a folder, in the Private Space and in workspaces. From the keyboard, Alt+Shift+Up and Down reorder, and Move to… picks a folder.
F2 renames a page or a folder, and Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+N makes a new folder. Folders now look like folders, with an open and a closed icon and an item count.
Text styles in Blocks
Select text to get a toolbar with bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code, link, eight text colours and highlight (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+H).
The styles are kept in the Markdown file, and Plain mode previews them too. Text you did not touch is still never rewritten.
Tabs, the command palette and themes
Pages open in tabs above the editor, like a browser, and the tabs come back when you restart. Settings opens as a tab too.
Cmd/Ctrl+K opens the command palette; type > for commands. Cmd/Ctrl+/ lists every shortcut, so you can do everything from the keyboard.
Choose Light, Dark or System in Settings or from the palette. The accent colour now marks the selected page, the active tab, buttons, focus and links, with AA contrast in both themes.
Folders, tabs and menus move a little as they open. The motion stops when your system asks for reduced motion.
What was fixed
Signing in to the web app returns you to the app instead of a “not found” page. The sidebar’s buttons fit on one line, with Settings as a labelled icon.
How to get it
Get the newest version from the download section. Thoth 0.1.1 was for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and 64-bit Linux. The changelog lists every change.
Questions
Does moving a page take it off my computer?
Yes, once the workspace has it. Copying leaves your file where it is. Either way, the preview shows exactly what will travel before you confirm.
Can I use Thoth without a mouse?
Yes. The command palette and the shortcuts list reach every feature, and a test drives creating, renaming, moving, formatting, switching tabs and changing the theme with the keyboard only.
